Product Description

Ovidrench S & C 2.5% oral suspension is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic for cattle and sheep. It is effective against mature and immature gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, tapeworms, and adult liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica). The product is also ovicidal against fluke and roundworm eggs, reducing pasture contamination.

In cattle, it controls Teladorsagia, Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Bunostomum, Cooperia, Strongyloides, Dictyocaulus viviparus (lungworm), Moniezia spp. (tapeworm), and adult liver fluke.
In sheep, it controls benzimidazole-susceptible strains of Teladorsagia, Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus (including N. battus), Chabertia, Oesophagostomum, Dictyocaulus filaria (lungworm), Moniezia spp. (tapeworm), and adult liver fluke.

Dose rates

Cattle (worm dose): 7.5 mg/kg bodyweight (0.3 ml/kg)

Cattle (fluke & worm dose): 10 mg/kg bodyweight (0.4 ml/kg)

Sheep (worm dose): 5 mg/kg bodyweight (0.2 ml/kg)

Sheep (fluke & worm dose): 7.5 mg/kg bodyweight (0.3 ml/kg)

For cattle over 400 kg, add 15 ml (worm dose) or 20 ml (fluke & worm dose) per additional 50 kg.
For sheep over 80 kg, add 2 ml (worm dose) or 3 ml (fluke & worm dose) per additional 10 kg.

Administer orally only with calibrated dosing equipment. Shake well before use. Do not dilute or mix with other products.

Withdrawal periods

Cattle (meat): 14 days

Cattle (milk): 60 hours

Sheep (meat): 4 days

Sheep (milk): Not for use in animals producing milk for human consumption

Contraindications

Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to albendazole.

Do not dose ewes at the fluke & worm dose during tupping or within one month after rams are removed.

Safe to use in lactating cattle; not expected to affect breeding bulls or pregnant cattle.

Avoid underdosing or frequent repeat use to reduce risk of resistance.

Do not administer with other cobalt or selenium supplements unless advised by a vet.

Cattle heavily infected with lungworm may continue coughing for some weeks post-treatment.

Care should be taken during dosing, particularly in sheep, to avoid throat injury.
