Cydectin 10% LA Injection

Cydectin 10% LA is a long-acting injectable solution containing moxidectin (100 mg/ml). It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of mixed infestations by gastro-intestinal and respiratory nematodes and certain external parasites including lice, mange mites and warbles in cattle. The product provides persistent activity, giving season-long protection when used as directed.

Dose rates
Administer by a single subcutaneous injection at the base of the ear.
Dose rate: 1 mg moxidectin/kg bodyweight, equivalent to 0.5 ml/50 kg bodyweight.
Care should be taken to avoid underdosing by accurately estimating bodyweight.

Cover period

Prevents re-infection with Ostertagia ostertagi and Dictyocaulus viviparus for 120 days.

Prevents re-infection with Cooperia oncophora for 90 days.

Prevents re-infection with Trichostrongylus axei for 60 days.

Prevents re-infection with Haemonchus placei for 150 days.

Persistent efficacy against Oesophagostomum radiatum for 120 days.

Withdrawal
Meat and offal: 108 days.
Milk: Not authorised for use in animals producing milk for human consumption.
Do not use in pregnant animals intended to produce milk for human consumption within 60 days of expected parturition.

Contraindications
Do not use in animals producing milk for human consumption, including pregnant animals intended to produce milk for human consumption within 60 days of expected parturition.
Do not mix with other veterinary medicinal products.
Underdosing may result in ineffective treatment and encourage resistance.
Avoid contamination of watercourses, as moxidectin is dangerous to aquatic life.
