Spot On

Topical spot-on or pour-on solution containing deltamethrin (10 mg/ml). For the treatment and prevention of lice, flies and other ectoparasites in cattle, sheep and lambs.

Dose Rates

Cattle: 10 ml per animal (100 mg). Apply to mid-line of back at shoulder level.

Sheep: 5 ml per animal (50 mg). Apply as above.

Lambs (<10 kg / 1 month): 2.5 ml (25 mg).

For blowfly strike in sheep: apply directly to affected area.

One application usually sufficient; fly control lasts 4–8 weeks. Do not repeat within 4 weeks.

Withdrawal Periods

Cattle: Meat/offal 17 days. Milk: zero hours.

Sheep: Meat/offal 35 days. Milk: not authorised (Spotinor) / zero hours (Deltanil – check product).

Contraindications / Warnings

Do not use on sick or convalescent animals, or in cases of hypersensitivity.

Do not combine with organophosphorus insecticides.

Apply only to intact skin; prevent licking of treated site.

Not for use in non-target species (toxic to cats/dogs).

Safety in pregnancy/lactation not fully established – use only after risk assessment.

Resistance to deltamethrin reported; rotate products where necessary.

Very toxic to aquatic life, bees and dung fauna – avoid contamination.
