Product Description

Frontline Plus spot on cat flea treatment is formulated with two tough killing ingredients; fipronil (50mg), which kills adult fleas and ticks and the added extra benefit of (S)-methoprene (60mg) which attacks flea eggs and larvae.

They work together to kill all month long, breaking flea life cycles and also destroying the next generation of flea eggs and larvae.
Frontline Plus spot on also contains active IGR technology which further interrupts the flea cycle by stopping flea eggs from hatching in your home. This is because 95% of any flea infestation comes from flea eggs, larvae and cocoons in your pet’s immediate surroundings.

Working together these two elements kill the fleas on your pet AND those in the home. If treatment is maintained then this will ensure you break the ‘flea cycle’, although it is recommended that additional steps are taken to further eradicate fleas such as the use of an environmental spray like Frontline Homegard Flea Spray.

Each pipette contains 0.5ml of clear amber coloured fluid, enough for a single treatment.
Frontline Plus for cats is effective for 4 weeks for both the prevention and treatment of flea infestations. It is effective against ticks for 2 weeks, but the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.

To apply Frontline Plus Spot On Cat hold the pipette with the thin end uppermost and tap it until all the liquid is in the main ‘triangular’ body, then snap tip of the thin end off along the pre-scored line. It helps if you have someone else nearby who can hold the pipette, while you get the cat ready. Hold your cat and part their fur between the shoulder blades (as they cannot groom this area and so lick off the treatment). On cats with a thick undercoat, it may help to have slight damp fingers to do this, but DO NOT LICK your fingers while handling Frontline Plus.

When you can see the skin, gently squeeze the pipette to empty out the contents. Try to squeeze gently rather than to squirt it out in a spurt.

Treating fleas with Frontline Plus causes them to become temporarily hyperactive before they die, meaning they are easier to spot. So any sudden ‘surge’ of fleas being seen immediately after treatment is actually a good sign that the treatment has worked! You can handle your pet as soon as the area you have treated has become dry. Frontline Plus should not be used on sick or convalescing animals, or kittens less than 8 weeks old.
