Chanaverm 7.5% 5L

An oral drench containing 7.5% w/v levamisole hydrochloride, for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes in cattle and sheep. Effective against mature and developing immature stages of levamisole-susceptible worms, including Haemonchus, Ostertagia (except inhibited larvae), Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Cooperia, Oesophagostomum, Chabertia, Bunostomum and lungworms (Dictyocaulus spp). Not effective against Type II ostertagiosis (winter scour).

Dose Rates:

Cattle: 1 ml per 10 kg bodyweight (7.5 mg levamisole HCl/kg)

Sheep: 0.5 ml per 5 kg bodyweight (7.5 mg levamisole HCl/kg)

Withdrawal Periods:

Meat (cattle & sheep): 20 days

Milk: Not authorised for use in animals producing milk for human consumption

Contraindications / Warnings:

Do not administer within 14 days before or after organophosphorus compounds or diethylcarbamazine citrate.

Not effective against inhibited Ostertagia larvae.

Overdose may produce cholinergic effects (salivation, tremors, head shaking).

Resistance may occur with repeated or inappropriate use.
