CoSecure Sheep Nutritional Supplement Bolus

Cosecure supplements the diet of the sheep with the nutritionally essential minerals copper, cobalt and selenium during pregnancy and lactation in the ewe. Prior to administration to the animal it is advised that the bolus should be at room temperature 15 - 20°C. Cosecure boli are made from a special kind of soluble glass and as a result share some of the properties of common glass. The most important factor to note here is that glass is therefore susceptible to sudden changes in temperature. A slow-release trace-element soluble glass bolus specially formulated for sheep of 20kg body weight and over. For ewes and tups, administer annually, one bolus will last for up to 8 months. For stores and hoggets, administer at 5-6 months of age or greater than 20kg. Give orally by the use of an oesophageal balling gun which delivers the bolus directly into the top of the gullet. Great care should be taken not to cause injury by placing the gun too far inside the throat of the animal. Ensure that each animal has swallowed the bolus by holding the mouth closed and observing the animal for a short time after administration. To minimise the risk of regurgitation avoid rough handling of animals after administration. The bolus will dissolve and add the minerals to those of the diet that has been consumed. Each bolus contains: 13.4% w/w copper, 0.15% selenium as Na2SeO4, 0.5% w/w cobalt.
